Shibata Bow-Making Tradition

Shibata Kanjuro XXI Sensei is the current head of the Heki Ryu Bishu Chikurin-ha School of Kyudo. Sensei was recognized as the 21st in the Shibata Lineage and assumed the duties of Imperial Bow Maker to the Emperor of Japan. Sensei lives in Kyoto, Japan, where he has operated a yumi or bow-making workshop for over two decades.  

Shibata Munehiro lives with his family in Kyoto. Shibata Munehiro has been studying bow-making in his father's workshop since 2009.
